Dr. Mst. Sharmin Sultana
PhD Food and Nutrition Expert, University of Pisa, Italy
Topic: The application of Terahertz spectroscopy and imaging systems in Biomedical, Food quality and Agriculture product Assessment – Current Status, Existing Challenges and Future Progress.
Dr. Mst. Sharmin Sultana has 12 years of experience in the food/nutrition/agricultural/bio-chemical/ academia and industry with proactive and methodical research and well-trained food and nutrition experts who can sail into different settings and solve new food security issues. Dr. Sharmin Sultana currently employed at the University di Pisa, Italy as Scientist in Spectroscopy and imaging in the infrared and THz regions for fruit and food quality assessment. Previously she has been appointed as a Scientist in Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia. She was appointed as a Scientist and in charge at International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) Bangladesh in the Rice Breeding Platform from 2019 until 2022. She finished her Ph.D. from the Dept. of Nanotechnology and Catalysis Research Centre (NANOCAT), the University of Malaya in the year 2019 in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. She is extremely efficient in modern analytical techniques such as all types of Spectroscopic techniques including FTIR and Time Domain Spectroscopy, THz imaging and spectroscopy in plant growth monitoring, also DNA-based methodologies including Multiplex Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Real-time PCR, RPA, DNA Sequencing, CRISPR, and NMR. So far, I have published 43 ISI papers in the top rating Journals of Food Science and Molecular Biology arena.
